Attribution

Know which marketing actually brought the patient in.

Every channel claims the same patient. TruVue joins the ad platforms, the phone, the forms and the schedule into one attribution record, so cost per new patient is a number you can defend.

In plain terms

What is patient attribution software?

Practice ownersMarketing leadsAdministratorsMulti-location operators

Patient attribution software connects the marketing that generated an inquiry to the patient who actually showed up. It matches an inbound lead, a call, a form fill or a referral to a scheduled and completed appointment, then reports what each source cost and what it returned. Practices use it because ad platforms report clicks and conversions they claim themselves, while the schedule holds the only outcome that matters.

  • Joins the two halves. Marketing systems know the inquiry. The schedule knows the patient. Attribution is the record that connects them.
  • Reports cost per new patient, not cost per lead. Lead cost flatters a channel that sends people who never book.
  • Deduplicates competing claims. When Google, Meta and your call tracker all take credit for one person, one of them is right.
  • Counts referrals as a channel. A referring physician or an existing patient is an acquisition source with a cost, even when the cost is time.
The problem

What this fixes in a clinic.

Nobody can answer what a patient costs

Spend lives in the ad accounts, patients live in the schedule, and the two are reconciled by hand once a quarter, if at all.

The front desk question is not data

Asking how someone heard about you produces a guess written on an intake form, not an attribution record.

Every platform claims the same person

Add up the conversions each channel reports and you have more new patients than you actually saw.

Budget decisions are made blind

Cutting a channel because it looks expensive per lead is how practices cut the channel that produced their best patients.

How it works

How TruVue attributes a patient.

Collect every inquiry

Forms, calls, chat, ad platforms, referral submissions and walk-ins land in one inquiry record with a source and a timestamp.

Match the inquiry to the person

TruVue matches an inquiry to a scheduled patient on the identifiers the systems actually share, and scores how confident the match is.

Resolve competing claims

Where several channels claim the same patient, the record keeps the full path and reports a single owner, so totals reconcile.

Report cost against outcomes

Spend by source is divided by patients who booked and by patients who arrived, so you see cost per new patient and not only cost per lead.

Outcomes

What changes once attribution is real.

Budget

Spend moves toward the sources that produce patients

You stop funding the channel with cheap leads and start funding the one with booked, arrived, returning patients.

Accountability

Agency and vendor reporting gets checked

When a vendor reports conversions, you have an independent number to hold it against.

Forecasting

New patient targets become a plan

Knowing what a patient costs by source turns a growth goal into a budget you can actually build.

How is patient attribution different from marketing analytics?

Marketing analytics stops at the conversion the ad platform can see, usually a click or a form fill. Attribution continues into the schedule and reports whether that person became a patient, which is the only outcome that carries revenue.

Does TruVue need access to our EMR to attribute patients?

A direct connection gives the richest picture, and TruVue connects where one is available. Where it is not, structured uploads and your practice management and scheduling systems carry enough to match inquiries to appointments.

What happens when two channels claim the same patient?

TruVue keeps the full path and reports a single owning source, so the totals reconcile instead of double counting. You can see every touch that person had before booking.

Can we see cost per patient by location?

Yes. Attribution is reported for the practice as a whole and for each location, which is how you find the site where a channel works and the site where it does not.
